KINGMAN - For the Luv of Paws and Western Arizona Humane Society held a Remember Me Thursday candlelit ceremony in front of Paws-itively Charming thrift store.

It was part of a nationwide event held to honor the millions of pets that have lost their lives without the benefit of a loving home and hopes to "shine a light" on the millions of healthy pets still waiting for adoption.

Mary Hamilton of WAHS and Cherie DaLynn from FLP spoke to the crowd and Brittney Gish read a poem. Paws-itively Charming is run by FLP and benefits their animal rescue work.

FLP has other activities planned in October. A pet adoption event at Petco is from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 4. From 4-8 p.m. Oct. 28 a "Howl'n Meow'n" trick or treating event will be held in front of the shop downtown. Pets are welcome on a leash or in a carrier and awards will be given for best costume. The cost is $5 per pet and registration begins at 3:45.

For more information, call Cherie at (928) 897-7304 or Brittney at (928) 278-1602. Paws-itively Charming is located at 204 N. 4th Street.
