Inmate attempts suicide by hanging

KINGMAN - A Bullhead City man is in critical condition after he tried to kill himself in the Mohave County jail Saturday.

The man, 22, was found hanging in his cell, according to sheriff's spokeswoman Trish Carter.

Detention officers rendered first aid and initiated CPR at about 5:50 p.m. Kingman Fire and River Medical responded and transported the man to Kingman Regional Medical Center, where he remained in critical condition as of Monday.

Carter said Bullhead City police booked the man into the jail April 11 on felony charges of possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and a probation violation warrant.
