Deportations down, children lost (Letter)

As the back and forth continues about how Trump, Cruz and Rubio will handle illegals, either already here or on their way, NOTHING is being said about what Obama is currently and STILL doing.

A recent Judiciary Committee investigation has revealed even more unaccompanied minors have come in the first half of 2016 than came in the 2014 onslaught. And Obama has decreased the number being deported. Of 127,000 caught coming in last year and half of 2016, only 4,680 have been deported.

The hearing with Obama officials also disclosed they have lost track of many of the prior children, most of whom were put in the custody of people with inadequate or no background checks and with no government oversight whatsoever. But to do this to our own children would probably cause us to be charged with a crime, as it should be.

Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Alabama, has said that twice as many unaccompanied minors are entering this year while the Obama administration has no response except to assume every child is in some type of danger and should be granted asylum. Well, of course these unaccompanied children are in danger, from coyotes, drug cartels, riding trains and worse.

I, for one, will feel like a 500 pound rock off my back when this current president is finally out of office. Let's hope there's enough of our country left to salvage.
