Driver in fatal New Year's Eve rollover identified

KINGMAN - The motorist who was killed in a one-car accident on U.S. 93 on New Year's Eve has been identified as Javier Reyes-Popoca, 38, of Phoenix, according to the Department of Public Safety.

Popoca was driving a Ford sedan north on the highway when he lost control near milepost 44 about 30 minutes past midnight Dec. 31.

He traveled off the left side and then overcorrected to the right, rolling the car across the northbound lanes. It came to rest on its top and Popoca, who was not wearing his seatbelt, was ejected.

He died at the scene.
