Goudy, Dennis Lee, LTCOLUSAF rtd., died at his home on Jan. 10, 2016.
He was born Aug. 5, 1934, in Findlay, Ohio, to Harold and Katherine Goudy. He grew up in Toledo, Ohio, enlisted in the Air Force in 1952, earned a commission in 1957 and served in a number of capacities during his Air Force career. He was involved in the design and building of the F-111 fighter aircraft, the first of that fighter series.
He earned a master's degree in engineering and won the Honeywell-Minneapolis Award at ASU for outstanding scholarship and his 1968 master's thesis on the brain is still referred to.
After retirement in the mid-1970s from the Air Force, Dennis took up long-distance bicycling and marathon running. At one time he was rated one of the top competitive bicyclists in his age group in Arizona.
Col. Goudy is survived by his wife of 58 years, Karin, and his two children, Susan Epstein of Littleton, Colo., and David Goudy of Hesperus, Colo.
There will be no services per request of deceased. Memorials may be sent to the Mohave Museum of History and Arts, 400 W. Beale St., Kingman or to the Wounded Warriors.
