Peter Charles Weitz, 37, of Las Vegas, Nev., died unexpectedly Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, as a result of an automobile accident in Lima, Ohio.
He was a protection and control technician for Shermco Industries in Columbus, Ohio. He and his family were living in the Marysville area while working at the Lima substation.
He was a member of IBEW Union Local 357. In following in the footsteps of his father, Peter, he attained his journeyman inside wireman license through the IBEW.
He grew up in Arizona, where he attended Kingman High School and became a huge Arizona Cardinals football fan. Music made him happy and as an outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hiking, camping, four-wheeling, shooting, rock collecting and cherishing nature.
He will be remembered for his kindness and generosity. He appreciated the simplicities in living and treasured his life with his wife and daughter.
He was born June 15, 1978, in Anaheim, Calif., to Peter C. and Patricia May Gores Weitz, who survive him in Las Vegas. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Scott Achong; his grandparents, Ethel and Earl Davis, Henry and Rita Gores; his uncle, Mike Gores; his grandmother-in-law, Nettie McClellan; and his grandfather-in-law, Charles M. Gibson.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Sarah Mahealani Achong; his daughter, Samantha; his sister, Rochelle Schreiner of Las Vegas; his brother, Anthony (Jennifer) Weitz of Las Vegas; his mother-in-law, Terri (Jerry Ford) Achong of Las Vegas; four brothers-in-law, Jeff (Nicole) Achong, Scott Achong, Jarred (Sandy) Achong and Cliff Schreiner; his grandmother-in-law, Carolyn Gibson; his nieces and nephews, Jonah, Jordyn, Hope, Sophia, Ryder Weitz, Ennaoj, Justice, Noah, Keoni, Ojani, Elias, Jaidyn and Jessalyn; and aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
