KINGMAN - The Lake Havasu City police officer who shot and killed a man who was armed with a knife June 20 has been cleared of any wrongdoing.
The Kingman Police Department was asked to investigate the officer involved shooting of 20-year-old Devin Scott.
Scott's father called police to the home after two separate incidents of domestic violence.
According to Deputy Chief Rusty Cooper, the KPD's findings were submitted to Mohave County Attorney Matt Smith for review, which cleared Smith.
"The ... video clearly shows Devin Scott, armed with a knife, advancing on the officer in a highly aggressive and threatening manner. Scott placed the officers in reasonable apprehension of imminent physical injury while armed with a dangerous instrument..." reads the report.
