Mayor Richard Anderson and members of the Venture Club of Kingman held an impromptu groundbreaking for the Kingman Splash Pad at Cecil Davis Park Wednesday. Desert Construction suggested the group, which raised more than $250,000 from private donations to build the water park, take the photo now before the site gets messy, according to Venture Club Past President Lisa Bruno. The physical groundbreaking will begin this week with excavating, pipeline extension and other work. Bruno said construction will take four to six weeks, which means the grand opening could occur in mid to late July.
