Foster Leon Thompson, born July 1, 1945, departed from his loving family on June 17, 2016, after many years of persevering against muscular dystrophy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dennie and Ozena Thompson.
Leon retired with 45 years with the Arizona Department of Transportation as a civil engineer. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, and hunting, wood cutting, and traveling in the motor home. The past few years he enjoyed hanging out at the local gun shop having coffee and sharing stories.
He leaves behind Terry, his wife of 46 years; two daughters, Rhonda (Nick) Penrod and Ann (Bryan) Grimes; along with six loving granddaughters: Shelby Leachet, Bailey Leachet, Bryanne Grimes, Alyssa Grimes, Lillian Leachet, and Cammie Grimes; one great grandson, Tyten Wal-den; and a brother, Dave Thompson. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
