KINGMAN - While the major leagues have just recently reported to spring training, the 2016 high school baseball season is well underway.
The Kingman Bulldogs are hosting the Kingman High School Invitational Baseball Tournament that begins today and the 21 games over the next three days should get anyone into the swing of baseball season.
Today's games and Friday's first game are pool play games. There are three pools of three teams and each will play two games. The outcomes determine the seeding for the championship bracket that begins at 11 a.m. Friday.
Pool 1 houses host Kingman, River Valley and Chinle. Kingman plays River Valley at 9 a.m. today and Chinle at 1 p.m.
Pool 2 is made up of Kingman Academy, Mohave and Gila Ridge. Academy plays Mohave at 9 a.m. and Gila Ridge at 11 a.m.
Pool 3 consists of Lee Williams, Lake Havasu and Chino Valley. Lee Williams plays Havasu at 11 a.m. and Chino Valley at 1 p.m.
All games will be played at KHS. The championship game is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday.
9 a.m. F1 River Valley vs. KHS; F2 Mohave vs. KAHS
11a.m. F1 LWHS vs. Havasu; F2 KAHS vs. Gila Ridge
1 p.m. F1 KHS vs. Chinle; F2 LWHS vs. Chino Valley
3 p.m. River Valley vs. Chinle; F2 Mohave vs. Gila Ridge
