Fire proves fatal for Meadview woman

MEADVIEW - A Meadview woman escaped her burning home, but not before suffering fatal injuries Thursday.

Firefighters with the Lake Mohave Fire District responded to the home in the 100 block of Bishop Drive at about 10:22 p.m. and found the woman, 58, dead in her front yard, roughly 25 feet from her fully engulfed manufactured home.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and kept it from spreading to other structures and no other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire has not been determined, but Chief Patrick Moore of the Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District said foul play is not suspected at this time.

The Mohave County Sheriff and Medical Examiner offices are handling the investigation.
