Blaze in Hackberry destroys buildings

HACKBERRY - Fire destroyed a home, an unattached garage and outbuildings at a property in the 12000 block of Route 66 in Hackberry Sunday.

Crews with the Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District responded at about 9:15 p.m. as did the Hualapai Nation Fire Department in Peach Springs, according to Northern Arizona Consolidated Chief Patrick Moore.

The structures were all fully engulfed in flames by the time the first crews arrived and they knocked down the multiple fires, said Moore.

Moore said Northern Arizona Consolidated firefighters were kept busy over the weekend, with more than 45 calls.

The occupants were not home and no injuries were reported. Moore said the cause is unknown and under investigation.
