KINGMAN - A Yucca man who was charged in the murder of an elderly Yucca man Oct. 12 rejected a plea deal in Mohave County Superior Court Friday.

Prosecutors offered Buddy O'Brian Wallace, 25, a deal to plead guilty to second-degree murder with a maximum sentence of 25 years. In exchange, the state would drop a first-degree murder charge in the stabbing death of Charles John McCarty, a crime to which Wallace allegedly admitted committing upon his arrest, which occurred four days after the killing.

His next court hearing is June 17.
