KINGMAN – The Lee Williams volleyball team broke open a 1-1 non-region match with Kingman Academy by taking the final two sets and snapped its four-match losing streak Wednesday at LWHS, 25-12, 16-25, 25-20, 15-13.

Sadie Snay led Lee Williams (7-9, 1-8 4A Grand Canyon) with 26 assists, 11 kills, 10 digs and four blocks. Holly McFadyen added 10 kills and Mya Radler had five blocks. Madi Arave dug up 15 balls, Tori Logan had 12 and Lorelei Fernandez had 11.

Kingman Acadmey has yet to beat Lee Williams in volleyball since the teams started playing in 2014.

Lee Williams hosted 4A No. 3 Prescott (13-1, 9-1) in a region match Thursday. Results were not available by deadline.

Kingman Academy (6-9, 2-5 2A West) lost to 2A No. 8 Trivium Prep in a region match Tuesday 25-10, 25-17, 25-10, after winning the Silver Division tournament at Arizona Lutheran last Saturday. The Lady Tigers hosted No. 13 Tonopah Valley (10-4, 5-2) Thursday. Results were not available by deadline.

The Kingman Lady Bulldogs (0-15, 0-7 3A West) lost to 3A No. 1 Northwest Christian (13-1, 7-0) Tuesday. Kingman hosted No. 18 Chino Valley (9-5, 4-3) Thurday. Results were not available by deadline.

BOYS GOLF Vols post win

At Cerbat Cliffs Golf Course, Lee Williams edged Coconino by three strokes to win a four-team match Tuesday. The Vols won with a 39-over par 183. Coconino shot 186, Mohave was third with 189 and Kingman (206) came in fourth.

Cole Morton led the No. 33 Vols with an 8-over par 44, six strokes behind medalist Connor Wegmann of Mohave. Brandon Carver shot 45, Chase Williams 46 and Jack Kirby 48. Tanner Leo shot a non-team score of 50.

Britton Ogle led Kingman with a 47. Hayden Tanner shot 48, Derek Brown had a 53 and Landin Jones posted a 58. Matthew Mendez shot a non-team score of 59.
