Dead man may have been hit by vehicle

GOLDEN VALLEY – Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene of a deceased adult male Monday.

According to MCSO spokeswoman Trish Carter, the sheriff’s office received a call from the man’s friends Monday afternoon. They had been out looking for him and discovered the body. About 5:20 p.m., deputies responded to the scene on Hermit Drive near Ligurta Road.

Medical personnel who arrived on the scene confirmed the man was dead. Initial investigation indicates the Golden Valley resident may have been hit by a vehicle as he was walking.

“The man had a backpack and items were thrown around, leaving us to believe he had been hit by a car,” Carter said.

The man’s identity will be released after next of kin have been notified. This investigation continues and autopsy results are pending.
