Lady Vols hold off Bears for five-set win

KINGMAN – Lee Williams snapped its five-match region skid by beating Bradshaw Mountain 21-25, 25-18, 25-23, 24-26, 15-12 in Prescott Valley Tuesday.

Lee Williams (8-10, 2-9 4A Grand Canyon) took the season series from the Bears (4-12, 1-10). The Lady Vols previously beat Bradshaw Mountain three sets to two at LWHS Sept. 29.

Sadie Snay led Lee Williams in Tuesday’s win with 30 assists and 12 kills. Tori Logan had nine kills and Ashley Sahawneh finished with eight.

Madi Arave dug up 25 balls and converted 30 of 32 serve/receives. Freshman Lorelei Fernandez had 20 digs and handled 23 of 28 serve/receives.

Lee Williams hosts Cottonwood Mingus (4-12, 3-8) in its season-ending match at 6 p.m. today.

Kingman Academy wins

At Bullhead City, the Lady Tigers handled MALC (4-11, 0-9 2A West) in a region match Tuesday, 25-13, 25-11, 25-10.

Kingman Academy (7-10, 3-6) ends the season hosting No. 14 Parker (13-3, 7-2) at 6 p.m. today.

Kingman falls

At Wickenburg, the Lady Bulldogs were defeated by the Wranglers Tuesday, 25-18, 25-7, 25-16. Kingman (0-17, 0-9 3A West) tries to end the season with its first win when the Lady Bulldogs host River Valley (1-16, 1-8) at 6 p.m. today. The Dust Devils only win was over Kingman.
