GOLDEN VALLEY –The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of a man killed in Golden Valley this weekend.
According to sheriff’s spokeswoman Trish Carter, Matthew Joseph Ochoa, 27, of Golden Valley was found dead after sheriff’s deputies and detectives responded to a shooting at a home in the 3500 block of North Magma Road at about 2:40 a.m. Saturday.
During an altercation, Ochoa allegedly stabbed a subject who then shot Ochoa. The knife and gun were seized during the investigation.
Autopsy results are pending while an investigation continues.
This case will be forwarded to the Mohave County Attorney’s Office for review to determine if charges will be brought against the subject who is cooperating with authorities.
