KINGMAN – The Lee Williams High School girls golf team isn’t dealing with much turnover as only one athlete is gone from last season.

“It’s a huge benefit for me,” Lady Volunteers head coach Haley Bradley said. “This is my fourth year, so almost 90 percent of them have been golfing the whole time.”

The Lady Vols lineup features a wide array of talent, so Bradley has to decide on who makes the travel squad of five.

“They’re all pretty equal,” she said. “I have one superstar, but the next six are real close score-wise.”

As far as the season is concerned, the Lady Vols have a mixed schedule of matches. They’ll play three matches at Lake Havasu City, three in Phoenix and the rest at Cerbat Cliffs and Valle Vista.

“There’s not one match that we practically like to have,” Bradley said. “… Being able to play here on this course, they should take advantage of it. We get to play here a lot because we compete against KHS. They look forward to their home matches more than anything else.”

With that said, the Lady Vols plan to lean on each other as the season progresses.

“They’re all pretty close, which is sometimes rare,” she said. “For them, that’s the one thing that I really focus on – making sure we are a still a team even though we are actually competing against each other.”
