KINGMAN – The Kingman High School girls basketball team picked up its second straight victory Wednesday night with a 54-53 win at Parker.

“The girls just fought,” said Lady Bulldogs head coach Tony Kern. “They showed some grit.”

Kingman turned to its youth as freshman Tarase Marshall sank the game-winning basket with a few seconds remaining in the fourth quarter.

“Tarase hit a 3-pointer because Parker jammed up all my other shooters,” Kern said. “They jammed up Kearra (Tauta) and Sukwana (Quasula). They were focused on them. They saw Tarase, got it to her and she made a three.”

The Lady Broncs then called a timeout and it allowed the Lady Bulldogs to switch into man-to-man defense. The move paid off as Parker (3-5) couldn’t make a last-second shot to win the game.
