GV man alleged to have Sinoloa Cartel connection, 8 others arrested

KINGMAN – Nearly $50,000 worth of methamphetamine and heroin were seized during multiple raids in Golden Valley early Monday morning.

According to sheriff’s spokeswoman Trish Carter, Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team detectives, with the assistance of Gang and Immigration Intelligence Team Enforcement Mission, Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies, Kingman Police detectives and the Kingman Police K9 Unit served four search warrants at about 4:30 a.m. 

MAGNET detectives simultaneously served warrants at 5372, 5655 and 6094 Chino Drive. A fourth search warrant was served at 3502 Magma Road a short time later.

Detectives had been working a two-month investigation into a drug trafficking organization. The raids netted more than one pound of methamphetamine, approximately one-quarter pound of heroin, approximately one pound of marijuana and several firearms. The street value of the methamphetamine is estimated at approximately $40,000 and the heroin approximately $9,600.

Detectives learned that Omar Sanchez, the head of the organization, was allegedly supplying numerous pounds of heroin and methamphetamine to residents of Golden Valley, Kingman and Bullhead City. Sanchez reportedly had connections to the Sinaloa Cartel in purchasing the drugs. Several people that had been arrested prior to this operation were identified as alleged street level dealers for Sanchez and his organization.

Two children were removed from the residence of 5655 Chino drive and turned over to the custody of Department of Child Safety. Three shrines of Jesus Malverde, the patron saint of drug traffickers, were located at 6094 Chino Drive.

These nine people, all of Golden Valley, were arrested for the following felony charges:

5372 Chino Drive:

Jonathan Hernandez, 34, possession of narcotic drugs for sale, possession of narcotic drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia.

3502 Magma Road:

John Carlton, 36, possession of narcotic drugs for sale, possession of narcotic drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and misconduct with a weapon.

Raquel Vigil, 26, possession of narcotic drugs for sale, possession of narcotic drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Travis Nolan, 34, felony warrant for child support out of Mohave County Superior Court.

Darren Long, 32, possession of drug paraphernalia.

5655 Chino Drive:

Jose Acosta-Sanches, 50, possession of marijuana for sale, possession of marijuana and misconduct with a weapon.

Omar Antonio Burgos-Sanchez, 23, possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of narcotic drugs for sale, possession of narcotic drugs, child abuse, misconduct with a weapon.

Michelle Chim, 21, possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of narcotic drugs for sale, possession of narcotic drugs, child abuse, misconduct with a weapon.

6094 Chino Drive:

Karina Lara, 36, conspiracy to commit, possession of narcotic drugs for sale and possession of narcotic drugs. 

They were transported and booked into the Mohave County jail without incident.
