Karla J. Rivedal died peacefully on March 23, surrounded by her family after a valiant battle with pneumonia.
She is survived by her sister, Helen Nicol, her brother, Jim Smith, her daughters, Pam Rivedal and Kristi Whitehead, and daughter-in-law, Stephanie. She also has numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Irene and Oliver, and her son, David Rivedal Jr.
Karla loved her family, but would be willing to go “to the river” at a moments notice. She worked for 17 years at the Mohave County Jail, which she often referred to as her second family. Many people know her from her days spent at Duval, Combustion Engineering and Reeco.
The Rivedal and Whitehead family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to River Medical, Kingman Fire Department, KRMC (especially the Emergency Department) and Joan and Diana Hospice for all of the wonderful care given to Mom and the family. Last to thank, Ms. Cindy Johnson, Mom’s best friend, who has helped to care for Mom and the family in our time of need.
Services will be held at Mountain View Cemetery on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 1 p.m. with a gathering at Fireman’s Park after the service.
