KINGMAN – Following a season in which the Kingman Academy baseball team just missed out on the state tournament, eight Tigers garnered 2A West All-Region honors.

Levi Garcia led the way as he was named Region Defensive Player of the Year, in addition to being selected to the first team.

Donald Tatham, Kannon Butler and Kaden Bean joined Garcia as first-team honorees, while Bradley Hecker, Wyatt Hall and Hayven Potter were selected to the second team.

Adam Chastain rounded out the selections as he garnered Honorable Mention accolades.

The Tigers finished the 2016-17 campaign with an 8-2 mark in 2A West and finished just one game behind region champion Parker.

Kingman Academy tallied a 13-6 mark in 2A and it graduates just four seniors, including Garcia. The Tigers, however, will feature a strong class of seven seniors next season.

Eight Bulldogs honored

The Kingman baseball team had eight Bulldogs earn 3A West All-Region accolades, highlighted by first team selections Anthony Pinto and Luke Ness.

Kingman’s Rilee Araya, Mason Telford and Derrek Brown were named to the second team, while the trio of Brennon Ogle, Britton Ogle and Hayden Tanner garnered Honorable Mention honors.

The Bulldogs ended the season on a two-game winning streak for a 4-6 mark in 3A West. Kingman finished 8-10 in the 3A Conference.

Kingman graduates six seniors off this year’s squad, including Britton Ogle, Brown and Pinto. The Bulldogs will return two seniors for the 2018 campaign.
