Cecil Groves passed away peacefully at home on May 3, 2017 at the age of 97.
Cecil was born Jan 27, 1920 in Datto, Arkansas to Edward and Laura Groves.
Cecil was a WWII Veteran who wore his hat proudly. Cecil was a resident of Kingman for 49 years. He held various trucking business jobs before retiring.
Cecil then volunteered at Kingman Area Food Bank for over 22 years. He held every position over his tenure, including Operations Manager. He was very instrumental in setting up the current building where the Food Bank is now located.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dwayne; and son-in-law; John Valentine.
Cecil is survived by his wife of 42 years, Irene, of Kingman, Arizona; daughter, Judy Valentine of Lakeside, Arizona; step-daughter, Harriett Kelley (Ron) of Kingman, Arizona; and granddaughter, Lisa Fahringer (Glenn) of Cave Creek, Arizona. He is also survived by numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service is 10 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017, at College Park Baptist Church in Kingman, Arizona. Interment following service at Desert Lawn Cemetery in Mohave Valley, Arizona.
