KINGMAN – The Arizona Game & Fish Department has announced that they are now accepting online application for fall hunts for deer, sheep, turkey, bison and pheasant.
Tag fees for deer are $58, except for youth hunts, which are $38.
Fall turkey tags are $38 for adults and $23 for youth hunts. Fall javelina tags for youth only, are $23.
Bighorn sheep tags are $313, while pheasant tags are just $13.
Tags for bison (buffalo) are for cow only and are $663.
Sportsmen can apply at https://draw.azgfd.gov and follow the prompts.
Sportsmen can use a credit card to make these applications.
Sportsmen are charged $13 for each application, and if successful, will be charged for the tag fee.
The deadline to apply for tags is 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, June 13.
Paper applications are also being accepted and applicants can mail their applications to Arizona Game & Fish Department, ATTN: Drawing Section, P.O. Box 74020, Phoenix, AZ 85087-1052.
Paper applications can also be dropped off at regional offices around the state.
The department is encouraging sportsmen to add “PointGuard” when applying for tags.
PointGuard, according to the department, ensures if a successful applicant is unable to participate in a hunt for any reason, the accumulated bonus points will be reinstated, after the tag is turned in.
The cost to utilize PointGuard is $5 per species.
But there is a catch of sorts.
Those who want to participate in the Point Guard program must sign up for a customer portal account. The portal account is free.
