Letter: Be aware when driving, lives depend on it

A few days ago I was at a tire shop at the corner of Andy Devine Avenue and Hualapai Mountain Road. All of a sudden I heard a siren.

I looked up and saw a fire truck trying to make a left turn onto Hualapai Mountain Road with cars in the intersection. The firetruck driver was sounding that yelp horn to get people out of the way.

People need to pay attention to their driving. Stop using the cellphone when behind the wheel and check the rearview mirror.

If you see an emergency vehicle coming, pull over and stop. That is the law.

Driving is a fulltime job.
