KINGMAN – Northern Arizona Consolidated Fire District will hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Station 32, 4490 Able Drive in Kingman, and Chloride Fire Station at 9848 N. Second St.

The open house will include fire equipment displays, fire safety handouts and information smoke detectors and home lockboxes.

It’s part of Fire Prevention Week, which is recognized annually on the anniversary of the Great Chicago Fire of 1871.

It is used as a learning tool for communities to improve awareness for fire safety.

Anyone interested in serving as a volunteer firefighter can learn what it takes to serve their community, Fire Chief Wayne Eder said.

Individuals interested in smoke detectors and home lock boxes can obtain additional information.

NACFD holds open houses and provides school and other presentations in order to educate the community.
