The Right Crucible Obstacle Race raised $1,500 last year to help with the renovations of the Beale Street Theater. This year's race is scheduled for Saturday.

KINGMAN – Lace-up those racing shoes and prepare to get a little muddy. The second annual Right Crucible obstacle course begins at 8 a.m. Saturday at Grace Neal Parkway (4380 E. Calle Allende) across Route 66 from the airport turnoff.

The event is a fundraiser for Beale Street Theater and will consist of 10 obstacles that are Broadway themed. Throughout the course there will be people from the theater dressed up as characters from different Broadway plays.

The race is divided into three categories: competitive 5k, non-competitive 5k, and one mile. The one mile course is for children under the age of 8 and the 5k is for anyone over the age of 8. After the race, an awards ceremony will take place for participants.

The start and finish area is designated for parking and will also have a food and a hydration.

Prices to register range from $10 to $40, but prices will be going up on Friday. Registration packets can be picked up between 5-8 p.m. Friday at SHIFT (208 N. Fifth St.). For those wanting to participate, registration is also allowed the day of the race from 6:30-7:30 a.m. but with a price increase.

Registration is available at SHIFT, Beale Street Theater (304 Beale St.), and active.com. Participants must arrive 30 minutes early for the check-in process.
