Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue swift water team was called to Route 1, the Topock Highway.

Swift water technicians entered waist-deep waters to reach the motorist and brought him safely to higher ground.

The motorist was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device, more commonly known as the “stupid motorist law.”

Route 1 did reopen Monday.

MCSO Search and Rescue encourages everyone to not enter roadways or washes with standing or running water – turn around, don’t drown.
