Local impact regarding illegal immigrants won't be profound, supervisors say
The recent passage of the illegal immigration law by the Arizona Legislature and Gov. Jan Brewer has caused quite a commotion in the state and across the country. At the county level, though, officials don't see it as a big deal.The new law requires police officers to check the immigration status of anyone they believe is in the country illegally. It also allows Arizona citizens to sue a government agency if he feels the agency is hindering the enforcement of immigration laws.
