Hualapai Valley Solar, the first of three major solar projects proposed for Mohave County, will go before the Arizona Corporation Commission Wednesday morning. The 340-megawatt concentrated solar plant is supposed to be built approximately 27 miles north of Kingman near Red Lake. The plant has created controversy over the amount of water it will use to cool its turbines and wash the solar mirrors.
