John Michael Shaw

John Michael Shaw, a Kingman resident, died Thursday Sept.

20, 2001, in Arizona.

He was 79.


Shaw was born May 4, 1922, in Peebles, Ohio.

He served in the U.S.

Army during World War II, serving overseas from October 1942 to December 1945.

A former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, he worked at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio for several years.


Shaw is survived by: his wife, Elsie Irene (Haines) Shaw of Kingman; four daughters, Linda Hartshorn of Jamestown, Ohio, Debbie Pohlman of Beavercreek, Ohio, Peggie Clymer of Kettering, Ohio, and Jenny Rutledge of North Carolina; one son, Mike Shaw of Kettering, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Becky Kramer of Dayton, Ohio; two stepsons, Philip Shaw of Xenia, Ohio, and David Shaw of Dayton, Ohio; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bob Shaw of Hillsboro, Ohio, and Jack Shaw of Xenia, Ohio; four sisters, Glenola Haines of Xenia, Ohio, Wanda Minton of Xenia, Ohio, Doreen Lee of Xenia, Ohio, and Agnes Grooms of Kettering, Ohio; and several stepbrothers and stepsisters.

His parents, Jesse L.

and Bessie May (Lorenzo) Shaw, and one brother, Junior Harrison Shaw, preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held today, Thursday Sept.

27, 2001, at McColaugh Funeral Home in Xenia, Ohio.

Burial will be in Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.
