All Starz win at Shamrock meet

The All Starz Gymnastics & Dance team earned one first place finish and two fourth place finishes in the team standings recently at the Shamrock Invitational in Phoenix.

The All Starz Level 4 team won the meet with a score of 145.05 points.

The Host Team Flames came in second with 143.1 points and G-Force from Prescott came in third with 141.5 points.

"We did fantastic this meet," coach Brandee Gordon said.

"The Level 4's haven't gotten below second place this year and it was really nice to win a first."

The All Starz Level 5 team was fourth with 138.45 points.

The Desert Devils won the meet.

The Desert Lights was second and the Spinetts was third.

The All Starz Level 6 was fourth with 139.525 points.

Desert Devils won the meet with 143.625 points.

The Carters were second with 140.85 points and the Spinettes were third with 140.4 points.

"We only had three gymnasts on the Level 6 team as Margo Nelson is out due to an ankle injury and four gymnasts were needed for a Team Score.

We teamed up with G-Force from Prescott who only has one Level 6.

We had to count every score, but all four girls hit their routines with no falls.

We shocked everybody when we beat out six other large teams including the Desert Lights who had seven girls, and the Dynamics who had eight.

If we would have had Margo we would have been in second.

The scores were right there."

In the Level 4 (9-10-year-old) the All Starz dominated the al-around scores.

"At the state meet they don't do Level 4 team standings and so it was nice for them to go out on top," Gordon said.

The All Starz shined in the floor exercise, Gordon said.

"Overall in each level the floor was the highpoint," Gordon said.

"We had two 9.4s in Jessica Painter and Tricia Hall."

The All Starz will next compete in the Spring Championships in Flagstaff April 12-13.

"The Spring Championships are going to be tough," Gordon said.

"If we get in any top 3 finishers that would be a huge accomplishment this year.

Every level is really large.

No matter what happens we had a great season."
