City set to clean up Saturday
KINGMAN – The Kingman Great American Cleanup is scheduled for Saturday from 8 a.m.
to 2 p.m.
The city's Clean City Commission is combining the annual spring cleanup with the Keep America Beautiful and the Arizona Clean and Beautiful programs.
Photos and statistics on the cleanup efforts will be forwarded to the state and national organizations, city planner Rich Ruggles said.
Kingman Sanitation Superintendent Ed Tapia said the roving Dumpster and mobile recycling bins will be at the Mohave County Fairgrounds.
Volunteers will carry out a cleanup of downtown.
Clean City Commission members Janet Watson and Atia Khan will coordinate the downtown cleanup.
Donna Kowalske and six other Soroptimist volunteers will survey the trash collection at the fairgrounds.
Bagged household trash, yard debris and tires without rims will be accepted at the Dumpsters.
Newspapers, cardboard, aluminum cans and metal can be recycled at the fairgrounds location, Tapia said.
No household hazardous waste, batteries refrigerators or air conditioners can be accepted.
Ruggles said to call him at 753-8130 to make arrangements for removal of vehicles.
A title for the vehicle is required.
No vehicles will be accepted at the fairgrounds.
