Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, where Father Johnson presides.
Johnson was born into a Lutheran family, attending Lutheran grade school, high school and seminary.
After joining the U.S.
Air Force, he converted to the Catholic Church and became a Catholic chaplain's assistant.
He remained in that post for eight and a half years.

After the Air Force, he entered the Air National Guard as an intelligence officer as there were no chaplain positions opened, and later he was sent to Vietnam.
Father Paul attended seminary in Denver, Colo., and was ordained a Catholic priest after the demise of his 20-year marriage, which produced four boys: Mark, David, Joseph and Daniel.
He remains very close to his children and their families.
Father Paul's assignments have been as pastor of St.
Francis of Assisi Cathedral in Denver and as Father Superior of St.
Thomas Aquinas Seminary in St.
While serving as a Catholic chaplain's assistant, he entered the Servite Order (Servants of Mary) and remains in that order to this day.
