KINGMAN - Kingman Police detectives are investigating a woman's death.
About 2 p.m. Tuesday, KPD officers responded to a residence in the 3600 block of Sunshine Drive, where a woman had discovered the body of her daughter, Sgt. Rusty Cooper said.
"The victim was partially inside a plastic tote basket and upside down, suggesting the possibility she may have fallen into it," Cooper said.
"We're treating it as a homicide as we do all unattended deaths. There are some unusual things about it."
Cooper would not elaborate further .
The victim is identified as Dawn Colleen Burchett, 26, of Kingman. She did not appear to have any gunshot or stab wounds to her body.
An autopsy is pending.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Brent Kyle Johnson, 27, of Lake Havasu City on Dec. 1 on felony charges of theft of means of transportation, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a misdemeanor parole violation warrant issued by Kingman Justice Court.
About 6:44 p.m., deputies responded to a vehicle theft report in the 2300 block of Thompson Avenue, a news release from the MCSO stated.
The 48-year-old male victim stated Johnson borrowed his 1999 Dodge Intrepid around noon to pick up items at a store and failed to return.
About 8:20 p.m., deputies observed the vehicle parked in the 2900 block of Northern Avenue. A male subject, identified as Johnson, approached the vehicle and was taken into custody.
A search of Johnson allegedly revealed a syringe in addition to the keys to the vehicle.
A records check uncovered the warrant. Johnson was booked into Mohave County Jail and the vehicle was released to its owner.
DOLAN SPRINGS - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Roger Charles Cline, 49, of Dolan Springs on Dec. 2 on two felony counts of burglary.
On Nov. 20, deputies took a theft report at Mt. Tipton School, a news release from the MCSO stated.
The reporting party stated gasoline had been stolen from the school on two occasions. Deputies learned that an older model blue and primer gray Chevrolet pickup truck was sitting in the area of the bus yard in late November. They observed there was no license plate on the truck.
About 2 a.m., deputies contacted Cline during a traffic stop on Pierce Ferry Road near 13th Street. They observed numerous red fuel cans in the truck's bed along with a red hose. Cline was given a repair order for the license plate light.
After further investigation and at about 9:30 p.m., deputies re-contacted Cline at a residence in the 15800 block of Ivy drive and took him into custody. He was booked into Mohave County Jail.
KINGMAN - Kingman Police arrested Todd Alan Richard, 35, of Michigan on Dec. 5 on a felony parole absconder warrant from that state.
About 8:10 p.m., an officer contacted Richard in the 3700 block of Roosevelt Street regarding a traffic complaint, a news release from the KPD stated.
A records check uncovered the warrant and Richard was booked into Mohave County Jail.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Brandy Lee Kite, 23, of Kingman on Dec. 6 on felony charges of burglary and theft.
About 9:20 p.m. Nov. 24, deputies responded to a burglary report in the 2700 block of Neal Avenue, a news release from the MCSO stated.
The reporting party stated someone broke into her friend's residence earlier that day and property was missing.
Deputies contacted the 28-year-old female victim. She reported missing items included a computer, DVD movies, electronic equipment, tools, checkbooks and credit cards. Investigation identified Kite as the suspect.
When deputies could not contact Kite at a Kingman residence, an attempt-to-locate broadcast on her was issued to area law enforcement agencies. Deputies eventually were able to contact her at a residence in the 4100 block of Eagle Drive, where she was taken into custody.
Kite was booked into Mohave County Jail.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Scott Lane Kerr, 38, of Kingman on Dec. 7 on felony charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Deputies were traveling in the 3600 block of Dove Lane where they observed a red Toyota Corolla parked in the middle of the street, a news release from the MCSO stated.
The vehicle proceeded east as deputies approached it. They further observed erratic driving as the Corolla turned north on Mallard Drive.
About 12:30 a.m., deputies stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Mallard and Diagonal. Upon contacting Kerr, the driver, deputies detected an odor of marijuana inside the vehicle.
Both occupants of the vehicle exited and a K-9 unit was summoned to the scene. Two marijuana cigarettes and drug paraphernalia allegedly were found inside the vehicle.
Kerr was booked into Mohave County Jail.
The passenger was questioned and released. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
