KINGMAN – Kingman Police detectives arrested Calvin Hatch, 46, of Kingman on Friday on a felony charge of aggravated assault.

About 3:46 p.m., officers responded to a reported stabbing in the 500 block of Windsor Avenue, a news release from the KPD stated.

Upon arrival, officers found a 37-year-old male victim with a stab wound on one side. He was taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center and admitted.

Officers located Hatch, the suspect, hiding nearby. He had an injury to one hand, allegedly sustained in the altercation.

Hatch also was taken to KRMC for treatment. Upon his release, detectives arrested Hatch and booked him into Mohave County Jail.

DOLAN SPRINGS – Snowfall Saturday was cited as the cause for two accidents responded to by members of the Lake Mohave Ranchos Fire Department.

Three units and five personnel were dispatched about 2 p.m. to the first accident on Highway 93 near milepost 40.

Chief Dave Estenson said the driver of a Dodge pickup lost control of his southbound vehicle and struck the rear end of a 30-foot trailer being pulled by another Dodge pickup.

An ambulance from Lake Mohave Ranchos Fire Department took a 6-year-old boy from the trailing vehicle to Kingman Regional Medical Center to be treated for hip pain.

The other four people involved in the accident refused medical treatment.

Three units and five personnel responded to a second accident about 6 p.m. at milepost 2 on Pierce Ferry Road. A Mercury Mountaineer rolled over 1.5 times in that mishap.

The female driver, the lone vehicle occupant, was belted in and refused medical treatment.

Estenson said conditions were close to whiteout, forcing Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies responding from Kingman to the second accident to slow to 30 miles per hour north of Chloride.

KINGMAN – Kingman Police arrested David Huggins, 39, of Kingman on Friday on a felony charge of child abuse and two misdemeanor probation violation warrants issued by Kingman Municipal Court.

Officers took a report of child abuse wherein a 6-year-old victim sustained bruising to his neck and a blackened eye, a news release from the KPD stated.

The alleged incident occurred in the 2000 block of Detroit Avenue. Officers eventually arrested Huggins, the boyfriend of the victim’s mother. He was booked into Mohave County Jail.
