Sharon Hedges - the angels came and swept her away Oct. 30, 2006. She was born to Bo and Rachael Maddux on Dec. 24, 1948, in Kingman. She joined the love of her life, Denny, her husband of 29 years.
Sharon leaves behind her two devoted daughters, Heather Tomperi and Misti Hedges; and the sunshine of her life, her four grandchildren, Taylor, Dennie Lynn, Eric and Myrah; two brothers, Norman (Angie) Maddux and Kenny Maddux; and three sisters, Lile Stratton, Barbara (Darrell) Long and Leanna (Don) Butrymowicz.
Sharon, you leave us with an emptiness in our lives that can never be filled. But we know you hurt no more, and we know you are watching over us. So until we are all together again, we pray that God will watch over you …. You will live in our hearts forever …. We love you.

George W. (Bill) Stephens, 87, of Kingman died Monday, Nov. 6, 2006. He was born Nov. 8, 1918, in Fort Smith, Ark.
Bill enjoyed his time as a professional baseball player until he enlisted to serve in a vehicle convoy transport during World War II. He bravely served his country until he was wounded during the initial assault on the beaches of Okinawa. After the war he found himself coaching elementary sports, drove a school bus and then finally ended up working for the federal government, where he retired as the district director of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.
Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy; his three daughters, Donna, Kathy and Laurie; his six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and nephew, Dr. Bruce Caldwell and wife, Sue.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006, at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, 1701 Sycamore Ave., Kingman. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 10, at Sutton, followed by graveside services at Mountain View Cemetery, 1301 Stockton Hill Road.
