Jerry Allen Miller
Jerry Allen Miller was born to Walter and Pauline Miller on July 5, 1949. Jerry was a firecracker baby from the moment he was born on the couch in the family living room.
The family moved from Phoenix to Kingman in 1956. That's when he met his future wife (true love at first sight) at the age of 7 on the front steps of Palo Christi Elementary School. Jerry was very active during his school years in baseball and football and made many, many longtime friends. Jerry graduated from high school in 1968 to join the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After his 4-year tour, he returned to Kingman and his lifetime sweetheart. Jerry and Sue were married Aug. 14, 1971. They had two children, Kerrie and Justin.
Jerry was very active in our small town of Kingman. He loved the outdoors - loved to hunt and fish, was baseball coach for many years, Pop Warner coach, Walapai 4-wheeler, KORCC racing team, search and rescue, played softball many years, and was with the JayCees gunfighters. He was a 14-year member of the Elks. Jerry worked at the Ford Motor Test Grounds in Yucca for 18 years until he received his medical retirement.
The Lord took Jerry on Feb. 19, 2007, after a 14-year battle with complications from colon cancer. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, their two children, Kerri Estensen (Darren) and Justin Miller (Cecily), and his "favorite" grandson, Dakota (Spud). He is also survived by his brother, Bill Miller (Linda), and his sister, Linda Anderson (Chris).
Jerry left behind many relatives and friends, including Jerry's lifelong friend Steve (Linda) and family, who have been by Jerry's side for 44 years. Jerry will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Kingman Cancer Care Unit, P.O. Box 561, Kingman, AZ 86402.
