William Kenneth Corter
William Kenneth Corter, 61, of Springdale, Wash., and a recent former resident of Willow Creek Ranch, Ariz., passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2007.
William is the dear husband of Loretta Corter of Springdale (married 38 years) and the loving father and father-in-law of Kenneth J. and Amanda Corter of Suncrest; Tara M. Corter of Lebanon, Mo.; Tammy and Gary Imus of Kingman; Darrell W. Corter of Springdale and Alisha D. Corter of Elk, Wash. He enjoyed ten grandchildren: Heather Corter, Chase M. McArthur, Leighanna T. McArthur, Gavin D. McArthur, Jessica Williams, Logan Williams, Alyssa Long, Dalton Long, Christina Imus and Ashley Imus. William has many aunts and uncles including Jim Corter and Cookie Corter of West Milford, N.J., and Margaret Magee of Monroe, N.C. There are numerous nieces and nephews. Close friends of the family are Karl, Cleo, Patrick and Curtis Miller of Springdale.
Born in 1945 in Paterson, N.J., William is a Vietnam veteran earning the rank of sergeant in the United States Marine Corps seeing combat action between 1967 and 1969. He was a journeyman diesel mechanic, and a baker and chef at the Edgewater Hotel-Casino in Laughlin, Nev., where he was a member of the 500 Club.
Graveside funeral services honoring Mr. Corter were at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 18, at the Springdale Community Cemetery directed by the Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park, Wash., with the Rev. Sonny Clemmer officiating. Military honors and flag presentation were by the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard, Spokane, Wash.
