KINGMAN - Staff and students at Cerbat Elementary School celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday with a variety of activities March 3-7.

Fourth-grade teacher Claudia Rozzell, fifth-grade teacher Vickie Morey, Cerbat Family School Organization President Krisann Arnold and library aide Michelle Connell organized events that included reading 20 minutes to add a "piece" to "The Cat in the Hat."

All teachers displayed the cat's body outside their rooms. A tail was added the second day, the hat on the third day, bow tie on the fourth day, and the fishbowl on the fifth day.

Dr. Seuss movies were shown throughout the week. A school-wide assembly was held the final day, during which school Resource Officer Rich Prather read "The Cat in the Hat."

Volunteers participated in a "creaming" ceremony after the assembly, included Principal Dawn McGill, Assistant Principal Clint Keller, fourth-grade teacher Robbie Pope, physical education teacher Rick Olivas and psychology assistant Dixie Hite.

Students also enjoyed cupcakes donated by the CFSO.
