Inclement weather doesn't stop auto enthusiasts

Many Mohave County residents braved the inclement weather on July 20 to support the Kingman Elks Lodge No. 468 Charity Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show.

According to lodge officials, the rain put a damper on the show, but 43 people entered their vehicles even though the clouds opened up occasionally and dumped a lot of rain in a very short period of time. "We were determined to keep the show going," said Don Radley, exalted ruler of Kingman Elks Lodge. "All of the participants and spectators who showed up seemed to enjoy themselves."

More than $500 was raised during the show that will be given to the Elks National Foundation, the charity arm of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. Just three of the areas that benefit from ENF are drug awareness programs, student scholarships and veteran services.
