Javier G. Valdez, 70, of Kingman passed away on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2008, at his home in Kingman. Javier was born Dec. 1, 1937, in Michoacan, Mexico. He was a long-time resident of Kingman for 47 years. He was employed by Dunton Motors, El Paso Mine, Freiday Construction and Mohave County as a heavy equipment operator.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Maria Luisa Valdez; three loving daughters, Lupe Deihl of Chandler, Margarita Valdez and Dolores Valdez, both of Kingman; and one loyal son, Steven Valdez, also of Kingman; ten grandchildren, Michael and Kristopher Deihl of Chandler, Michael, Daniel, Rachel and Steven Hirst, Mathew and Alisha Valdez, Marisela Tena, Callee Joe Burt-Valdez, all of Kingman; two great-grandchildren, Michalya Deihl of Chandler and Michael Medina of Denver. He is also survived by his five brothers, Cesario, Salvador, Guadalupe, Gustavo and Miguel; and one sister, Lilia; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 14, at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, 1701 Sycamore Ave., with a rosary recited at 4.
