Ruth Maxine (Grammy) Menveg, 81, was born Feb. 1, 1927, in Ada, Okla. She went to the open arms of the Lord on Wednesday, March 12, 2008, in Kingman surrounded by her loved ones. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Laura (Meeks) Larman, and her three sisters, Ozella, Chris and "Nona." Her young son, William "Billy" Mohns also predeceased her.
She is survived by her brother, Edward Larman; her son, Robert (Andree) Duncan; four grandchildren, Korey Llewellyn (Cory), Randi Duncan, Lindsay Bauer (Jason) and James Duncan (Arnold); nine great-grandchildren, Landon, Jack, Mia, Coleman, Peter, Cody, Andrew, Nicholas and Grace; and her loving Dachshund, Imo.
Maxine spent most of her life in Southern California. She never lost her love of the ocean and big city life even though she moved to Kingman in the early 1990s. Here in Kingman she was able to be a part of the lives of her son and grandchildren, who all loved her dearly. She became part of Desert Church of Christ. It was there that she met her other "family," her dear friends from her church.
She will be remembered by all as a caring and fun-loving sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. We will miss you, Maxine, Mom and Grammy, but know that we will see your smiling face again.
Visitation was held from 9 to 11 a.m. with the service from 11 to noon on Monday, March 17, at Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, 1701 Sycamore Ave. Interment will be in California.
