Starr is Golden Valley Republican Club's newly appointed president
GOLDEN VALLEY - The Golden Valley Republicans have named Val Starr as their new president.
The club had been without a president for several months.
The change in leadership came when Louis Tranka, Mohave County Republican District 2 Chairman, appointed Starr as acting president.
Golden Valley Republicans is an Arizona State Republican Party-chartered club. Starr had been secretary since January.
"Val is one of our founders, a solid constitutionalist-conservative and a proven community leader. With all of his other commitments, I am personally pleased that he has accepted this position," Tranka said.
"I know that his dynamic get-involved approach to all issues facing the party will be well received by the membership."
The GVR has approximately 45 members.
"With all that's one my plate at the moment, this is not a position I would have sought," Starr said. "Lou convinced me that I was needed, and I have seldom failed to answer the call of the party. It's an honor, to be sure. I can only pledge to do my best to live up to the responsibilities."
