KINGMAN - Hualapai Valley Fire Department responded to a structure fire around 12:32 p.m. on Wednesday in the 4000 block of Lum Ave. According to the department, the structure was a burned-out singlewide mobile home. The home was unoccupied and no injuries were reported. Crews responded with four engine companies, one ladder truck, a water tender, a medic squad, 19 personnel and one battalion chief. Crews were on scene for three hours after the fire was under control. According to the department, the structure was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived. The fire did not damage surrounding structures, although an inoperable pickup truck stored near the property sustained minor damage. The damage of the structure and its contents is $1,400. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies responded to a vandalism report at the county jail around 2:25 p.m. on Tuesday. A detention officer reported that Amanda Rene Lahoua Garcia, 20, of Kingman broke a fire sprinkler in a holding cell and flooded the cell. According to MCSO, Garcia was charged with felony criminal damaging. Garcia was arrested earlier that morning by deputies on a misdemeanor warrant issued by the Kingman Justice Court.
