Absent Comrades Remembered
Kingman honors those who made the ultimate sacrifice

Veterans unfurl "Old Glory" Monday morning in preparation for a flag-raising ceremony at Centennial Park. Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Unit No. 10 hosted the Memorial Day event, which drew members of VFW Post 10386, VFW Post 3516, American Legion Post 14 and Mohave County Chapter 975 of the Vietnam Veterans of America, along with local officials. Kingman resident Olivia Goglia, a Navy veteran, sang the national anthem. Speakers included Mayor Les Byram, Gene Crego, president of the local chapter of the VVA, and Denny Colvig, hospice chaplain at Kingman Regional Medical Center. In the photo at left, ex-Marine Frank Kozlowski blows Taps at the close of the ceremony, as the Mohave County Sheriff's Office Color Guard presents arms.
