KINGMAN - Kingman Police officers arrested Tony J. Gortariz, 24, of Kingman Wednesday afternoon at a residence in the 3200 block of Sage St. on suspicion of felony aggravated assault. Officers had taken a report earlier from a woman who said Gortariz had stabbed her in the arm the previous night, but she had been afraid to report the incident to the police. Gortariz fled on foot when officers tried to contact him. Officers later found him in his home hiding in the attic. He was booked into the Mohave County Jail. He also had a misdemeanor warrant out of Kingman City Court.
KINGMAN - Kingman Police officers arrested Andy Elizabeth Schmidt, 30, of Kingman Wednesday on suspicion of felony aggravated DUI. At 9:40 p.m., officers responded to a private property crash in the 3600 block of Stockton Hill Road. They found that Schmidt had crashed her Dodge Ram truck into a parked vehicle. Officers noticed the odor of alcohol and signs of impairment on Schmidt. Schmidt had two children in the truck who where under 15. She was arrested and booked into the Mohave County Jail. No injuries were reported.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Brenda Kay Thomas, 38, of Golden Valley Tuesday afternoon on a failure to appear felony warrant issued by Mohave County Superior Court. At 12:40 p.m., deputies contacted Thomas as she pulled her vehicle in front of a residence in the 3700 block of Shaeffer Avenue. A records check showed Thomas to have an outstanding warrant. Thomas was taken into custody without incident. She was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Jacinda Elenee Morgan, 29, of Kingman Wednesday morning on suspicion of felony possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two failure to appear warrants issued by Kingman Justice Court. At 11:20 a.m., deputies stopped a vehicle traveling east on Northern Avenue with a cracked windshield and contacted the driver and passenger. The female passenger initially identified herself as someone else. Deputies had the passenger exit the vehicle. As the woman was exiting the vehicle, she said she had warrants and told deputies her name. A records check showed Morgan to have outstanding warrants. Morgan was taken into custody without incident. A search of Morgan's purse revealed a syringe, a broken glass pipe with burnt residue and a plastic bag containing marijuana. She was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
