Emery Arthur 'Art' Metzke
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our dad, Emery Arthur 'Art' Metzke. He passed away on Monday, Nov. 3, 2008.
He was born Sept. 15, 1935, in Williams, spent his school years in Wickenburg, then served in the Navy for four years with an honorable discharge. He lived in Chloride for many years, was a member of the VFW, loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He was also employed with Duval Mining Company until Duval shut down. He was involved with the Old Miners Day Parade and the St. Patrick's Day Parade as the Leprechaun. He was also involved with the Chloride Belles as a vaudeville performer and a gunfighter. He played the spoons and washboard, and when he retired he became a snowbird.
He leaves behind his wife, Rebecca Metzke; his son, Arthur Metzke; his daughter, Cheryl Holst; one twin brother, Harold 'Shorty' Metzke; a sister, Margaret Willis; and nieces, nephews, grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He will be in our hearts forever and he will be missed very deeply. God bless him.
