GOLDEN VALLEY - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Donna Lyn Bedard, 39, of Golden Valley Tuesday evening on suspicion of two felony counts of aggravated DUI with a passenger under 15 years of age. At 8:40 p.m., deputies responded to a convenience store located in the 5000 block of Highway 68 regarding an intoxicated woman inside her vehicle with two small children. Upon arrival, deputies contacted an employee of the store. The employee said that an unknown customer reported that a woman was passed out in a vehicle in front of the store. The employee said she took the keys out of the ignition when she found Bedard passed out in her vehicle with her two children. Deputies observed Bedard's vehicle parked almost directly in front of the store entrance. Bedard was sitting in the driver's seat, a small child was sleeping in the front passenger seat and another small child was sitting in a child's car seat in the backseat. Deputies contacted Bedard and immediately smelled an odor of alcohol. They asked her to exit the vehicle. Bedard had to use the side of the vehicle for balance. She admitted to drinking beer and consuming a few shots of alcohol. Following the field sobriety tests, she was taken into custody and transported to the Mohave County Sheriff's Office. She failed to provide sufficient results to determine her blood alcohol concentration. A blood sample was taken from her to be submitted to the DPS Crime Lab for further analysis. She was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail without incident. Her children were released to a friend at the scene. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
