KINGMAN - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Joanne Elizabeth Kavanaugh, 20, of Kingman Tuesday morning on suspicion of felony resisting arrested, a felony outstanding warrant for failure to appear and a misdemeanor warrant for contempt of court. At 12:10 a.m., deputies responded to a disturbance in the 3700 block of Devlin. There were reports of a male and female arguing in their front yard. Deputies contacted the male, who denied any problems and advised deputies that Kavanaugh was inside sleeping. Deputies contacted Kavanaugh, who gave them false information. Deputies were able to positively identify her and conducted a warrant check, which showed two outstanding warrants. She was taken into custody. Kavanaugh resisted for a brief time before complying with deputies.
GOLDEN VALLEY - Mohave County Sheriff's deputies arrested Robert Andrew Taghon, Jr., 25, of Golden Valley Saturday evening on suspicion of felony aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, aggravated assault on a person under 18, criminal damage and cruelty to animals. Deputies responded to a 911 hang-up call in the 3600 block of West Cerbat Road in Golden Valley. Upon arrival, deputies were contacted by a juvenile female who told them that Taghon was beating her dog and eventually killed it. He also assaulted her, she said. Deputies contacted Taghon, who was uncooperative and became belligerent and aggressive toward deputies. Taghon was placed under arrest and became combative and kicked out a patrol vehicle window. He was restrained further, transported and booked into the county jail.
